Tips for a Great Valentine’s Day Homemade Meal

Posted by GiftaLove

Couples usually celebrate Valentine’s Day in grand style. It all starts off on February 7, when Valentine’s Week begins, and along with it, the ritual of exchanging a plethora of presents. Well, you might give each other gifts for teddy day, or plenty of chocolates on Chocolate Day, but this Valentine’s Day, why not make things simpler?

Of course, gifts and presents are part and parcel of Valentine’s Day. But you are guaranteed a great time even if you skip the expensive dinner date and cook something together, right in the privacy of your home. Here are some great tips for a homemade meal on Valentine’s Day!

Teddy Gifts

Prepare Dishes that Both of You Want to Eat

So you’ve been reading up about Lebanese cuisine recently, and you want to give it a go on Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately, your partner is not a fan of Lebanese food, and she wants to eat Italian food, which somehow you can’t seem to tolerate. But you both love Chinese. So, what do you think is the ideal cuisine to stick to? Remember, a home cooked meal on Valentine’s Day is not just about a particular individual’s taste, it’s about both of you, so go for something that both of you enjoy.

A Lot of Food Doesn’t Necessarily Mean Great Food

Now that you have decided that you want to have Chinese food, it’s time to pick what you want to cook up. You might have grand ideas in your head about a meal that consists of numerous varieties of fish and chicken preparations, along with both rice and chow Mein. However, you have to ask yourself, is it feasible? Would you really want to spend most of the day cooking? In all probability, the answer to both those questions is one big NO! Remember, the more food you want on the table, the more time you have to spend in preparing them, and shortcuts usually end up with the food tasting the exact opposite of what you had initially imagined.

Desserts are Compulsory

Just like chocolates have almost become mandatory gifts on Valentine’s Day, desserts are compulsory for homemade meals on 14th February. They are the perfect ending to the dinner date that both of you put together so painstakingly at home. Why not bake a chocolate cake? Or better yet, get a sumptuous cake from Giftalove, and experiment with it in case you don’t want to spend more time in the kitchen than you already have. The bottom line is; you just cannot do without desserts on Valentine’s Day, and particularly when it’s a home cooked meal.

Garlic Based Preparations are forbidden

Okay, forbidden sounds a bit too heavy. But you know how garlic based preparations are. They taste great, and garlic’s not all that bad for your health. But it definitely isn’t the best when you want a kiss-fresh breath on the day that you need it the most. So all those intimate kisses after your home cooked meal would have to wait for quite some time, unless both of you want to hate each other for the rest of Valentine’s Day.

So all in all, when it comes to the Romantic Valentine gift you can gift each other, very few can rival a home cooked meal prepared lovingly by the both of you together. So go on, cook up a storm!
